Josh Palmer

Josh Palmer is President and Managing Partner of Dunn Financial Services, where he provides clients with a full range of insurance and financial strategies. As a Financial Advisor, Josh is licensed in Life, Health, and Disability Insurance and holds Series 6 and 63 Securities Licenses with LPL Financial, along with a Property & Casualty License. His expertise spans personal and business insurance solutions, retirement planning, and benefits strategies.

Josh began his professional career as a history teacher and coach in the Elmira City School District before joining Swan Morss Insurance Services in 2005. A graduate of Mansfield University with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, Josh brings a unique combination of teaching, leadership, and financial expertise to his role.

Beyond his professional work, Josh is deeply committed to his community. He is a founder of the Josh Palmer Fund, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families. He currently serves on several boards, including the Elmira City School District, Express Booster Club, Josh Palmer Fund, Martha Lloyd Foundation, and the Chemung County Sports Hall of Fame. His past leadership roles include serving on the boards of Family Services of Chemung County, Glove House, St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, Parent Resource Center of Corning, Elmira Cal Ripken, the Academy of Finance Advisory Board, and the Elmira City School District Audit & Finance Committee. He also served as President of the Chemung County CYO.

Josh’s contributions have been widely recognized. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Leukemia Society’s Ernie Davis Courage Award, American Cancer Society Volunteer of the Year, New York State Governor’s Award for Leadership & Community Involvement, New York State Athletic Directors’ Community Awareness Award, the Chemung County Jefferson Award, and the Section IV Athletic Directors’ Community Service Award. He has also been inducted into both the Chemung County Athletic Hall of Fame and the Elmira Southside Athletic Hall of Fame.

Josh lives in Elmira, New York, with his wife and three children.
